All posters on this page are original French movie (or video) posters as used in cinemas/theatres to promote/advertise the movie. Available through theatres or theatre owners only.
Most French posters are printed vertically, which is portrait style, and the art usually differs from the original American One Sheets or the artwork used in other countries.
The following are some of the common sizes of original French movie posters:
Grande aka Affiche aka 1/One Panel - measures 47x63 inch, 120x160 cm, printed on thick paper stock and issued folded in one piece. Most common poster.
Affichette aka Petite Affichette aka French One Sheet aka Medium - measures 24x33 inch, 60x80 cm, printed on light stock. Not as common and is not used much any longer.
Petite aka Mini aka Small French - small, measures 15/18x21/24 inch, 40x53/60 cm, size may vary considerably, printed on light stock and primarily for posting on walls. Usually has one center fold line, but alsp comes flat or rolled.
New Grande/Large aka Train Station and Kiosk Grande/Large - measures 47x69 inch, 120x175 cm, New breed of posters seen in display cases, often double sided and comes rolled.
Other known sizes: 63x94 inches, 160x240 cm, and 24x63 inches, 60x160 cm.
