The 1960s and 1970s are considered to be the Golden Age of the pornographic movie in the US and around the world. These posters provide insight, not only into the sex industry, but also into the more liberal society of that period or they simply serve to amuse, excite and arouse.
The following are some of the common sizes of original x-rated and erotic posters:
One Sheet - measures 27x40/41 inch, 70x105 cm. The most popular movie poster size, printed on paper stock and what you see these days in most movie theaters and video stores. Issued folded until the early eighties, but nowadays mostly rolled. This type of poster is often displayed in a marquee case or lightbox.
A lot of other, usually smaller, sizes were and are also being used in video stores and theatres around the world.
If a man is pictured chopping off a woman's breast, it only gets an R rating,
but if, God forbid, a man is pictured kissing a woman's breast, it gets an X rating.
